OpenText iPrint Appliance 24.1 Release Notes

OpenText iPrint Appliance is a virtual appliance that offers cross-platform, self-service printing for the enterprise. It allows users to print from their desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. iPrint Appliance supports NetIQ eDirectory, Active Directory, and Microsoft Identity as user identity sources. It scales to fit organizations of any size and provides a single solution to manage the printing needs across multiple locations.

The appliance runs as a virtual machine within any virtualization environment such as VMware, Windows Hyper-V, Citrix Xen Server, or Xen on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES).

Innovation Release iPrint Appliance 24.1 is an update for iPrint Appliance 23.4 that includes enhancements, improves usability, and resolves several previous issues.

1.1 Managing iPrint Administration Privileges to Directory User

Active Directory and eDirectory imported users can manage the iPrint Appliance server using Administrator rights. See Managing Administration - Imported User as Administrator in the OpenText iPrint Appliance 23.4 Administration Guide.

2.0 Known Issues

2.1 General Issues

Printing documents with SmartArt graphics or tables may impact the quality of the printout. It is recommended to deploy Remote Renderer to resolve such issues.

2.2 Online Update Issue

You need to re-register the iPrint Appliance if you get a warning stating, “One of the installed patches affects the package manager itself...".
